Nellie Doss Bryant, 87, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Saturday, June 23, at The Carrington. She was the wife of the late Leonard Ivanhoe Bryant.
Born in Appomattox County on Oct. 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Opal Minnix and Robert Leslie Doss. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Appomattox and worked at Central Virginia Training Center as a Developmental Aid for 20 years. Nellie had a passion for craft work and made many gifts for her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Marie Denbow of Lynchburg and Sharon J. Robinson of Appomattox; a son, Donald Bryant of Appomattox; a sister, Barbara Metcalf of Darlington Heights; a brother, Garland Doss and wife, Alice of Appomattox; six grandchildren, Robert Kratz, Carla Ongley, Crystal Manning and Stacy, Brittany Hughes and William, Brandon Denbow, and Jimmy Hill; eight great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Paul Hill of Maryland. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Hill; a granddaughter, Brandy Denbow; and two brothers, Robert Lawrence Doss and Cecil Eugene Doss.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Wilde. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, June 27.
